If you need a little bit of encouragement when it comes to running, don’t worry! We’ve all been there! Even if you love nothing more than pounding the pavement, dips in motivation are totally normal and not something to worry about at all.
But if you do suddenly find yourself flagging a little, what more motivation could you possibly need than the chance to swap the miles you’ve run for pints in the pub?
Thanks to the good folk over at Strava and New Balance, this is now a possibility over the next few months, with four challenges launched between now and June aimed at runners of all abilities.
According to Runner’s World, when you sign up to the challenge of your choice you’ll be given a Runaway Card that you can add to the wallet on your smartphone and which will automatically fill itself up with the miles you run – and you can then swap these for pints in the London pub, found in Soho.
Not only will you be able to reward yourself for running so much with a pint or several, you can also check out all the very latest New Balance running gear, with the popup also featuring a retail area in the downstairs of the pub.
There’s also a workout area with a couple of treadmills, so if you’re a couple of miles short for a pint you can quickly top your wallet up! And you can leave lots of little messages of encouragement of your own to other fellow runners in the toilets, the walls of which have been left blank for you to scribble on.
The best thing is for all you local runners, if you start now, you may well just make it to Soho by the time the lockdown is lifted. Remember to take a tent and sleeping bag because there’s no guesthouses or Premier Inns open (other overnight accommodation establishments are also available).
Sounds pretty great to us here at Fix My Run! And don’t forget, if you’re looking for a running coach to help you hit your goals this year, get in touch with the team today.
