Lets face it, we all enjoy a good love story.
From the soppiness of Love Actually (basically multiple “love” triangles [or pentagons or whatever] wrapped up in the nauseating sweetness of Christmas saccharinity) all the way back to the tragedy of Romeo & Juliet (come on, we all know the Baz Luhrmann version is the best), maybe it’s something deep within the British psyche, or maybe it’s worldwide, everyone has a piece of their heart reserved for a love story.
Whether you prefer the Casablanca – boy meets girl, girl meets boy, boy gets girl, boy loses girl to other boy, boy meets girl again… “Play it, Sam, Play it once more, For old time’s sake”, rinse & repeat kind of storyline or the more convoluted unrequited love that we come across in Pulp Fiction (a legendary piece of cinema, see this scene), there’s always something for everyone to connect with.
But what about the love affair we have that isn’t with other people?
Love Stuff?
I’m not talking about your clandestine love affair with your iPhone or Instagram account. I’m talking about the really obvious love affair you have with dopamine.
I know, that’s drawn a blank for a lot of people, what on earth is he talking about I hear you say.
What I mean is the endorphins you get from exercise. The running, the sport.
What else (aside of the obvious, lets not go there) gives you the feel-good ‘high’ that getting outside and pounding the streets / pavements / gravel paths / wide open fields?
And what else drives you mad and makes you become the most annoyed and irritated and grumpy monster when you are stopped from doing it?
We know it, you know it deep down but might not want to admit to it… You love running.
Is it time to indulge yourself?
That itch won’t go away unless you scratch it.
It’s not Me!
Ok, we understand.
It’s the other person in your life that suffers from the running addiction. It’s not you, you’re ‘asking for a friend’.
Look, either way, we can be open about this, you or someone you are very close to is a bit of a running addict. There’s no shame in it. Lets face it, as a vice, there are much worse.
We’re not going to judge you (or them) for it, in fact we love running too.
If truth be known, we really, really love running because with running comes runners. and we completely love runners. More than that, we love helping runners and we love helping runners run better, prevent injury and lose themselves to their passion.
That’s why we put out our valentine’s offer, so you can get yourself looked at by a running technique coach in Manchester and help you care for and cherish the thing you love…
Running!
